May it Please Your Excellency

When I had the honor of seeing you last I acquainted you, with the following state of the French Inhabitants of this part of the Province, in regard of their population, also of their contracted local situation; upon which representation your Excellency had the goodness to promise you would tender them every assistance in your power, in consequence of which I acquanted them you were much disposed to ajust themm, provided they would make an application. They have therefore hired Stephen Tebedo (one of themseles) to makes such application he will hand you this together with a list of the name of such letters as have the most numerous families; should your Excellency have the goodness to grant them more lands, which they deserve and as good settlers have a right to, Tebedo who is well acquainted with the situation of the country can inform you of that part they would wish to locate.

We the subscribers do certify that some years ago Mr John Morrison was appointed by the Government to make a survey of lands in the Township of Clare, granted the French Neutralists and that by some mistake in the survey, a Pierre LeBlanc an industrious respectable letter) fell that of land allowed him three hundred acres, Mr Morrison upon information of the mistake acquaninted LeBlanc that there was a gore of land unlocated betwixt Lotts nº 62 & 63, and that it was left for the purpose of fullfilling LeBlanc's Compliment, upon which presumption he has actually made a location, notwithstanding no return was ever made had and has never obtained any Grant, therefore prays that he (LeBlanc) may have a grant for this land, which will only put him whm of nothinmg with other settlers of families equal to his -
