Marcia was killed in a car accident at age 23. On the the day that she died, she began this letter to her friend Susan. It was found when her apartment was cleared after he death and has become a family heirloom.

August 23 1980

Dear Susan,

Hi, I finally talked myself into writing a letter. I haven't been in a letter writing mood for a long time as you know. So ... I hear you're in love! You'd better be behaving yourself. Ha! Ha! I've been going out with this guy from work, he's a respiratory tech Erice Muise nice, smart guy but the present time he screwed up over this girl in Cape Breton (sound familiar) anyway he's just a good pastime at the moment. And I no longer have the ... Hawaiian disease!! I won't go into my trip out west because I've just got too much to tell you so you'll have to wait until you get home

Oh, by the way, I'm staying here at the apartment until you come home. I do want to live with you when you come home. Also, if you & Rene want someone to pick you up at the airport in January I will, just as long as you tell me the date about a month in advance. That way you can really surprise everyone. O.K. I can't wait until January. So we can have a good drunk together!! The new Misty Moon opened this week, haven't been there yet but I'll be going next week for sure.

Went to the Acadian Music Festival down home last week and had a great time. Only $9.00 for the whole weekend. Music was fantastic. There was no Tarbot this year. Apparently they passed a petition around and

got 400-500 names on it so they cancelled Tarbot. I've never heard from Les since you've been gone so I wouldn't know if he's in Europe or not. Have you heard?

I've been walking to work everyday lately for good exercise. Also gone swimming in Lake Banook a few times it's really nice there.

Also went to the concert on the hill (Citadel Hill) with Anne & Noel. Thousands of people were there, they had about 5 bonfires & people with fireworks they weren't too pleased so they are not having it next year. They even found dirty diapers amongst the garbage, some people are really ignorant.

I've seen Mike quite a bit. He bought a new car Harrigan [?] Sports. Really nice, he let me drive it. Boy would I ever like to have that car, it's grey with black trim, looks sharp. When I got back from out west he had a letter here from you so I called him over, he didn't even want to read the letter and he wasn't going too, but after he was here about an hour he was overcome by his curiosity. So he read it, I think he's really trying hard to forget about the 2 of you.
